In the early 1990’s Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited - India’s premier oil refining and marketing company, and Colas SA, France – a global leader in the road construction and infrastructure development business, envisioned immense potential in the field of value added bitumen products. This vision led to a JV agreement in the year 1996 and Hindustan Colas Ltd. (HINCOL) was formed. The same year saw HINCOL commence manufacturing operations at its first plant located at Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra. Therein began a journey that has seen HINCOL emerge as market leader in the value-added bitumen segment, with eight advanced manufacturing plants across India and a marketing network that services road construction activity all over the country. Our resources in the form of our Technologically Advanced Manufacturing Plants and our R & D Center at Mumbai, helps in producing excellent quality products and also achieving enhanced product performance. Our R & D facility is equipped with sophisticated, “state of the art” equipments supported by the Central Research Laboratory of Colas SA, located near Paris to ensure strict Quality Control. It helps in development and benchmarking of new Products and also in identifying new raw material sources. Our Labs are well equipped with highly sophisticated equipments like Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR), Pressure Ageing Vessel (PAV) and Rolling Thin Film Oven Test (RTFOT) along with other specialized equipment to test the characteristic of Bitumen.
